Helping Young Female Athletes Find their Passion in Sports
It’s not every day that we get the chance to talk to someone on the other side of the world who is as passionate about something as we are.
When Prissy Tomboy heard about a group of five pro-athletes in Maui who shared our same mission of helping young girls find their passion in sports, we knew we had to collaborate.
Everyone, meet accomplished water athletes Ashley Baxter, Paige Alms, Talia Decoite, Tehani Gangini, and Kelly Potts.

They are co-stars in upcoming Maui Film Festival Movie XOXO, which explores what it means to be a woman and how they all excelled to become top athletes in their respective sports. Directed by Brent Deal and Chris Aguilar and produced by the Fin Film Company, the XOXO trailer inspired the Prissy Tomboy team in so many ways.
We were all speechless at the love and passion these women have for sports and their dedication to giving underprivileged girls the chance to get on a board and surf.
When we contacted Ashley Baxter and asked her to talk about our shared missions, she immediately jumped on board. At the end of the day, we’re all a bunch super passionate girls that want to share our love for sports and give other young girls the opportunity to find themselves through sports.
Like Prissy Tomboy, the XOXO project is all about helping young girls find a healthy passion. We want to give girls the opportunity and drive to pursue something they love.

“The involvement in sports has not only made me communicate better with people and be a team player, it’s instilled a lot of self-worth, confidence and empowerment, and knowing that I can achieve anything that I want to. And it makes me want to instill that in any girl I encounter.” – Kelly Potts, professional surfer.
The XOXO trailer is proof that we here at Prissy Tomboy are not alone in our mission. Girls around the world deserve the chance to find their healthy passion, whichever sport that may be.

"To all you Prissy Tomboys, go for whatever it is you want to do. No matter what, you can do whatever you put your mind to. Whether it’s baseball, singing, acting, SUP, kite boarding, surfing, skateboarding, tennis, art, it doesn't matter. As long as you find passion in life, go for it and know that you can do it.” – Ashley Baxter, water sports athlete and model.
